Peach and Whisky Oven BBQ Chicken
For a sweet and spicy easy BBQ chicken recipe, look no further. With sweet peaches, savory whisky, and a few spices, this chicken is perfect for big gatherings, or simple family dinners. Give it a try and you’ll see it’s as good as all git-out!
You may be thinking something along the lines of, “How is this BBQ chicken if it’s made in the oven?” Well, that’s a valid question. It’s true that classic BBQ is done on a grill, but on those nights when you don’t feel like lighting the coals, don’t sacrifice your BBQ cravings. Instead, make oven BBQ instead.
In fact, oven BBQ has been a go-to way of cooking chicken for hundreds of years. Famous 20th century actor, Cary Grant, even had a favorite oven BBQ chicken recipe of his own.
What makes this recipe especially delicious is the addition of both canned and fresh peaches. Peaches are a staple in southern and south western cuisine, making them perfect for pairing with Texas Crown Club Whisky. The peaches add sweetness and freshness to this dish that compliments the additional spices. Meanwhile, the whisky gives this chicken a kick that you won’t be able to ignore.

Texas Crown Club Peach And Whisky Oven BBQ Chicken
One bite of oven roasted peaches and tender, fall-off-the-bone chicken is enough to hook and reel you in. This dish has everything you need for a delicious dinner. And, with any leftovers, you can make salads and sandwiches.
Ingredients:
- 12 chicken legs or thighs, bone in, skin on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 sliced yellow onion
- 4 chopped cloves of garlic
- 1½ cup Texas Crown Club Whisky
- 3 cups barbecue sauce of your choice
- 1 cup peach preserves
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- A dash of sriracha sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 4 peaches cut into 8 slices each
- Salt and pepper
Serves: 7
TIME: 2 hour
Step 1 - Coat the chicken in salt and pepper, then brown the chicken in a pan with the olive oil and butter. You don’t have to cook the chicken all the way through yet, so about 7 minutes per side should be good. Then, set aside.
Step 2 - Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, cook the onions and garlic in a pan. After about 2-3 minutes, pour in the whisky and allow it to reduce. This will take about 5 minutes.
Step 3 - In a baking dish, pour in the barbecue sauce, peach preserves, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sriracha, garlic powder, and fresh peach slices. Put the chicken on top, and finally, pour the onions and whisky over it.
Step 4 - Put the dish, covered, into the oven and cook for about 1½ hours, or until the chicken is tender enough to pull apart with a fork.
Step 5 - You can garnish this meal with some herbs of your choice. Parsley, chives, or thyme leaves work well.
Serve this chicken and peaches dish with rice, mashed potatoes, bread, coleslaw, or all four! You’ll definitely want some sort of a starch to help soak up all the extra sauce. For vegetables, I’d go with simple string beans, asparagus, broccoli, or carrots.
